Wild Plumbs

I love the trees that have these little "plumbs" on them.
One reason is because they have the most beautiful white flower in the early spring (telling us winter is gone) and because my little mountain bluebird used to live in them.
She made me smile every time had a glimpse of her bright blue feathers in the green leaves.
She moved somewhere else when people started to build around us.
I think about buying a bluebird house to see if she'll come back,
but I never do.
The boys and some of the neighbors set off into the trees on the mountain to pick these.
Stafford was the only one brave enough to actually eat them.
We are waiting to see how he fares.
So far so good.
